Places Our Therapy Dog Teams Visit

We visit nursing homes, schools, prisons, juvenile detention centers, handicapped facilities for physically challenged, facilities for the mentally challenged, hospitals with cancer wards, teenage pregnancy homes, senior citizen homes, and the list continues...if you have a preferred area to work in, it’s out there.

We frequently send "letters of introduction" to local facilities to let them know of our existence and availability. If you have a special place in mind, please let us know and we will contact the appropriate person in charge for visitation arrangements. By working together we can make this happen.

1) All dogs that visit MUST be pet therapy certified and have met their ten supervised visits before attending a visit at CHH.
A) Copies of therapy certification and vaccinations must be give to Ms. Duncan
2) There will be NO feeding of dogs at CHH except for the occasional treat for reward for the K9.
3) While in CHH K9 are not allowed in patient rooms.
4) Visits will take place the conservatory or as dictated by Ms. Julie Duncan.
5) Handlers and K9's are not to wonder the halls.
6) One K9 per handler.
7) If the K9 gets nervous or scared the handler is to separate/remove the K9 from the acitivies or CHH immediately.
8) Having fun, brightening up days, and safety for patients and staff at CHH is a must.
