What is PUPT?
Pawsibilities Unleashed Pet Therapy (PUPT) of Kentucky is a therapy, pet and service dog non-profit organization in Central Kentucky. We utilize a "train the trainer" approach that allows you to be the trainer of your dog now and forever.
Beginning in 2009, we have formed strategic alliances with a top Kentucky Labrador Retriever breeder that is known for producing top quality dogs with kind temperaments and a great sense of smell that we then cultivate into working Service Dog skills, such as diabetic alerting and seizure alerting. These dogs have been certified OFA for at least 5 generations and have DNA pet ID numbers, which prove the parentage of the dogs. The breeder includes a book for each dog which documents the dog's certified pedigree, OFA certifications, and DNA information.
Through our Service Dog application process, people with medical needs or physical disabilities can qualify to get one of these dogs and begin the training process here at Pawsibilities Unleashed. There is a $75 application fee and fundraising requirement associated with this process. Read more in our Service Dog section.
Our PUPT trainers also offer dog and puppy training classes in obedience, leadership and therapy dog certification.
Facilities
We are based in Frankfort, Kentucky. Group training classes are held on Saturdays and Tuesdays at our training center. Service Dog classes consist of an intensive one-week course.
The training center is located at 1410 Versailles Road, Suite 5, Frankfort, KY 40601 Directions: Take I-64 to exit 58 towards Frankfort, then go 1/2 mile to the Jett Town Plaza just past the Waffle House.
Donations, Sponsors & Volunteers
Our service dog and therapy dog programs are made possible through dononations and sponsorships. Our sponsors have included the Make-A-Wish-Foundation, the Frankfort Credit Union, Bluegrass Technology, Meds-for-Vets and more. Would you like to help sponsor a service dog for a child or adult? All donations are tax deductible. We have lots of volunteer opportunities too. Email us for more information.
We Work With All Breeds
We do not discriminate against dogs based on breed and we do not support breed banning legislation. We believe that dogs should be evaluated and trained on a case-by-case basis.
You can help make a difference. Volunteer and sponsor opportunities are available and all donations are tax deductible. Learn more >>
