Using your own dog in our service dog Program

We do allow use of your own dog in our Service Dog program.  There are a couple ways you can do this.

Because Service Dogs should meet certain criteria, we must make sure your dog meets our standards.

 

If you want us to train a dog that you have chosen and obtained, we can do this, but we cannot be certain the dog will complete the program as a service dog.  This depends on the dog's temperament, ability, personality and willingness to serve as a service dog.  If the dog is a puppy, it will take longer to determine suitability for the program.   If at any point we deem your dog not appropriate to be a Service Dog, we will contact you and discuss options and how to proceed.

Process of using your own dog:

Program 1:
This program is for Kentucky residents only and is offered on a case by case basis.  

1)  Contact us to set up an appointment to have your dog evaluated.  $50

​

2)  If they pass the evaluation*, you must then begin filling out the paperwork.

   If they do not pass the evaluation, you can elect to use a dog we choose.

3)  Once all the paperwork has been reviewed and approved, you will then need to sign the contract and send in your payment for the service dog program.  $7500

​

4)  Once payment is received, we will set up your training program and begin working with you to train your dog.

*Please note that if your dog is a puppy or has not yet reached maturity, we cannot guarantee that your dog will complete the program as a service dog.  This depends on the dog's temperament, ability, personality and willingness to serve. Most dogs do not get their "adult" temperament until they are mature, usually around 2 years old for most breeds.

Program 2

This program is for anyone needing us to train their dog for them for Service Dog work. 

​

1) Contact us to set up an appointment to have your dog evaluated.  $50

​

2) If they pass the evaluation*, you must then begin filling out the paperwork.

3) Once all paperwork has been reviewed and approved, you will then need to sign the contract and send in your payment for the service dog program.  $15,000

​

4) Once payment is received, we will contact you to let you know your dog has entered our training program.  We will update you with video and/or pictures throughout the training process.  We will contact you when your dog is close to completing their training to set up your training with us to learn to work your dog and get the dog working for you.
